One Man Two Guvnors | The Hawth Crawley | Opening Night

Otherwise entitled – how to get a complex  🙂

Things are hotting up at the Hawth in Crawley in preparation for the tonight’s opening night of ‘One Man Two Guvnors’. I shall be reviewing the show later in the week (once I have seen it) but earlier today I was invited to the photocall to welcome the cast to Crawley.

Attending the photocall was:

Gavin Spokes
Gavin Spokes

Gavin Spokes recently played Parsons in the Almeida/Headlong production of 1984 which isabout to transfer to the West End. Gavin’s previous NT work includes Francis in the West End production of One Man, Two Guvnors and Jamie Lloyd’s production of She Stoops to Conquer. He played Hardy in Laurel and Hardy for the Watermill Theatre.

Shawn Williamson

includes The Ladykillers.

Jasmyn Banks

Jasmyn Banks played Alice Branning in EastEnders. Other TV credits include: Little Crackers, Sadie Jones and Life of Riley. Her stage work includes Hecuba for Lazarus Theatre Company and Wind in the Willows for the RSC.

The clue was in the name photocall – (not presscall) and I was mildly amused to see the other attendees arriving with humongous cameras with telescopic lenses and more twiddly bits and thingummies than I can imagine, and there was me with my ahem…..phone……

It wasn’t through lack of trying, I had tried to borrow a decent camera, no response. I had tried to borrow my daughter’s, she’d left her SD card at her Grandma’s. So well, iphone’s are meant to take good photos aren’t they? Judge for yourself. Once I got over my embarrassment I was OK. After all, there are few twiddly bits on a phone for me to mess up. :s

Advantage point: Phones take Video too 🙂

I was lucky enough to chat to Gavin Spokes who plays Francis before the photoshoot and I  shall hopefully incorporate our chat into my review later in the week.

I don’t believe I have ever plugged a show I have not yet seen quite so much before on this blog, I hope it lives up to expectations. Otherwise I shall be eating humble pie tomorrow.

There are a limited amount of tickets left to see One Man Two Guvnors which is playing at the Hawth in Crawley from tonight until next Saturday.  (18th-23rd August) before it continues on it’s massive tour around the UK.
