New Season at The Churchill Theatre Bromley | Spring – Summer 2019

The Churchill Theatre is delighted to announce the launch of their upcoming Spring/Summer 2019 season, with a programme of shows that will delight and intrigue audiences in equal measure. From dramatic thrillers to musical comedies, not to mention a fantastic array of family shows, there is something for everyone this season.

First up this Spring is not one, not two but three terrific dramas that will have Bromley audiences on the edge of their seats. The Picture of Dorian Gray, an Oscar Wilde classic which features Wilde’s famous wit and stars Jonathan Wrather (Emmerdale’s Pierce Harris) in the role of Lord Henry Wotton, premieres its UK tour at the Churchill Theatre from Thu 7 – Sat 9 March.

Agatha Christie’s worldwide phenomenon The Mousetrap will continue to keep audiences guessing when it returns to Bromley in March, whilst The Lady Vanishes, based on Hitchcock’s timeless thriller, rounds the month off nicely.

As we head into Summer, a brand new adaptation of Henry James’ iconic tale Turn of the Screw will be gracing the Churchill stage from Tue 23 – Sat 27 April. With a deliciously atmospheric set and an evocative soundtrack, this show will captivate young and old alike.

Anthony Horowitz’s Mindgame will have audiences as equally enthralled as the mind bending psychological thriller comes to Bromley this June, following a West End run in Summer 2018.

Musicals are also in abundance this season with Strictly champion Joanne Clifton and A1’s Ben Adams starring in Richard O’Brien’s legendary production of The Rocky Horror Show from Mon 15 – Sat 20 April.

A brand new musical production of Little Miss Sunshine follows on in May and Cabaret, the multi-award winning musical that features show-stopping choreography, dazzling costumes and iconic songs such as Money Makes The World Go Round, rounds off this Spring/Summer season from Wed 28 – Sat 31 August.

If dance is more your style then we’ve got some amazing performers coming your way. Strictly favourites AJ Pritchard, Vincent Simone and Aljaž Škorjanec are just a handful of the BBC stars performing on the Churchill stage this Spring and Summer.

BalletBoyz, meanwhile, are back with two brand-new works Them&Us on Mon 18 March and Rambert presents the first major UK revivals of two landmark dance works, PreSentient and In your rooms, on Fri 3 May.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the English Touring Opera will be bringing some classical flair to Bromley this April and May respectively, whilst hRonnie Scott’s All Stars will be switching things up on Wed 14 August when they take audiences on a guided, musical tour of London’s world-famous jazz club.

There’s plenty for families to choose from too, with TV and literary favourites Zog, Bing and Ben & Holly all appearing at the Churchill Theatre over the next couple of months. The Tiger Who Came To Tea will also be heading for Bromley from Mon 10 – Wed 12 June, celebrating over 10 years on stage.

With so much on offer this season, London’s glittering West End is truly on your doorstep.
