The Hawth has announced that it will be launching a brand and exciting new theatre company for people aged 18+.
There will be auditions for their first production An Ideal Husband written by Oscar Wilde on Friday 27 January between 7-9pm..
THAT. Company (The Hawth Adult Theatre) is looking for actors and people to work behind the scenes. It doesn’t matter if you have experience or not, this is an ideal opportunity to work and learn from professional director Sarah Slator and perform on stage at The Hawth on Saturday 1 April.
An Ideal Husband is a comedy written by Oscar Wilde and deals with blackmail and political corruption over the course of 24 hours. It was first performed at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in 1895 and has been widely performed ever since.
Rehearsals will take place each Friday evening in The Hawth’s participatory arts space known as The Loft. The Loft is already home to The Hawth Youth Theatre, Sway’s Perform Drama and Singing class, The West End Masterclass and Hawth Choir. The Loft is also available for hire and is used by community groups and classes such as life-drawing and papercraft.
