The Hawth has announced today that Duncan James will be playing the lead role of Tick when Priscilla Queen of the Desert rolls into the Hawth Crawley in April 2016.
Based on the smash-hit movie, PRISCILLA is the heart-warming, uplifting adventure of three friends who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship and end up finding more than they could have ever dreamed of. With a dazzling array of outrageous costumes and a hit parade of dancefloor favorites, this wildly fresh and funny new musical is a journey to the heart of FABULOUS!
Duncan James started his career as part of the boy band Blue along with Simon Webbe, Lee Ryan and Antony Costa. Blue racked up forty Number One singles worldwide, three Number One UK albums and sales of over 13 million records.
Duncan starred as Billy Flynn in the hit musical Chicago and In 2009 appeared as Warner Huntington III in the West End production of Legally Blonde at the Savoy Theatre. He is a familiar face on television, working as a presenter on Soapstar Superstar, Capital FM’s Party In The Park, City Hospital, T4, The Clothes Show and GMTV’s Entertainment Today.
Duncan also became a finalist in ITV’s Dancing On Ice in 2007. He has also appeared in TV on Plus One, Grease: The School Musical for Sky 1, Eurovision: Your Country Needs You (as a Judge) for BBC1, Eight Out Of Ten Cats for Channel 4 and presenting The National Lottery for BBC1 many times.
