They’re back! Oh yes they are…!
Excitement is beginning to build in theatres across the UK, as everyone starts to talk about this year’s pantomime and ask questions such as what will it be and who will play whom?
The Capitol in Horsham is no exception and the venue’s resounding success of last year’s ‘Cinderella’ has led to everyone wondering what the theatre will do this year with their Beauty and The Beast fairytale.
We are absolutely thrilled to welcome back two familiar faces this year – Mike Goble who people will remember as the ever-so-loveable ‘Buttons’ as well as Richard Alan who played Cinderella’s father, Baron Hardup.
Mike Goble will play D’jon M’stard in Beauty and The Beast.
Mike is script advisor for this year’s panto with Director Nick Mowat and is delighted to be returning to the popular venue. Since Cinderella, he has been fronting a brand new, fun and educational show for young people – ‘Ministry of Science Live’ which is touring throughout the UK in 2015 and was a huge success when it was performed at The Capitol in May. The show has also toured overseas in Dubai and formed part of the Abu Dhabi Festival. Mike also finds time to perform as part of the Legoland Stunt Show from time to time.
Richard Alan will play Beauty’s Father Professor ‘Doc’ Éclair in Beauty and The Beast.
One of last year’s panto favourites Richard Alan is incredibly excited to be a part of Beauty and The Beast, working with Mike for another year and returning to The Capitol to see some friendly faces.
Since Cinderella, Richard has been touring extensively with ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’ produced by Hit Entertainment in conjunction with Ministry of Fun and Butlins. He also produces a one-man ‘Fairytale Fun’ story-telling show which he performs in local schools for children aged 3-10 years.
Richard is still linked with last year’s Capitol pantomime charity – The Horsham and Crawley Samaritans and is currently training hard for the Barns Green half marathon on 27 September, with all the money he raises from the event being donated to them.
But who will play Beauty and who will play The Beast? Further cast members to be revealed soon…
