Theatre Royal Brighton – Spring / Summer Season 2025


Following a fabulous Winter season of shows, Theatre Royal Brighton is excited to unveil the What’s On Guide for Spring / Summer — featuring a critically-acclaimed lineup of shows coming to Brighton in 2025/2026.


This new season welcomes an array of award-winning actors to the Brighton stage. In April, West End star and British actor Michael Maloney (Truly, Madly, Deeply, Belfast, Young Victoria, The Crown) will star as the celebrated Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot in AGATHA CHRISTIE’S MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS, while in June, Irish media personality Laura Whitmore (Love Island, MTV, Laura Whitmore Investigates) will take on the role of Rachel Watson in THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN.


In July, stage, television and film star Martin Shaw (Judge John Deed, Inspector Goerge Gently, The Professionals) will lead A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS, followed by a star-studded October featuring Stacey Dooley (TV presenter) and Kevil Clifton (Strictly Come Dancing, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Chicago) in the stage phenomenon 2:22 A GHOST STORY, and Tom Chambers (Father Brown, Strictly Come Dancing) in INSPECTOR MORSE: HOUSE OF GHOSTS.


This season will also see the return of the ‘king of dance theatre’ (The Observer) Matthew Bourne with MATTHEW BOURNE’S THE MIDNIGHT BELL, alongside other returning fan-favourites SIX, THE WOMAN IN BLACK and SUNNY AFTERNOON — Theatre Royal Brighton’s 2025 Christmas show, celebrating the timeless sound of The Kinks.

Theatre Royal Brighton’s Creative Learning programme is also pleased to announce a host of new workshops, events and backstage tours on offer. Theatre Royal Brighton’s Creative Learning programme aims to make theatre and live entertainment inclusive for all, ensuring theatre remains inspiring and accessible for people of all ages and from all walks of life.

THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW (Mon 14 – Sat 19 Apr)

The Rocky Horror Show is the story of two squeaky clean college kids–Brad and his fiancée Janet. When by a twist of fate, their car breaks down outside a creepy mansion whilst on their way to visit their former college professor, they meet the charismatic Dr Frank’n’Furter. It is an adventure they’ll never forget, filled with fun, frolics, frocks, and frivolity.

AGATHA CHRISTIE’S MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS (Tue 22 – Sat 26 Apr)

Starring Michael Maloney (Truly, Madly, Deeply; Belfast; Young Victoria; The Crown) as the celebrated Belgian sleuth, Murder on the Orient Express is one of Agatha Christie’s greatest literary achievements, with a final twist that is amongst her very best.

THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN (Wed 4 Jun – Sat 7 Jun)

Adapted from Paula Hawkins’ novel – an international phenomenon selling over twenty million copies worldwide – this gripping new play will keep you guessing until the final moment. Laura Whitmore will star in this brand-new production, following the play’s first sell-out UK tour.

BOYS FROM THE BLACKSTUFF (Tue 17 – Sat 21 Jun)

James Graham’s powerful new adaptation of Alan Bleasdale’s BAFTA award-winning TV series is directed by Kate Wasserberg and comes on a UK tour direct from the National Theatre and the West End.

CRUEL INTENTIONS (Tue 24 Jun – Sat 28 Jun)


The brand-new smash hit musical Cruel Intentions comes to Brighton as part of its first major national tour. Based on the iconic film and inspired by Les Liaisons Dangereuses, it’s packed with ‘90s pop classics including the songs of Britney Spears, Boyz II Men, Christina Aguilera, TLC, R.E.M., Ace of Base, Natalie Imbruglia, The Verve, *NSYNC and many more!

GHOST STORIES  (Tue 8 Jul – Sat 12 Jul)

A truly terrifying theatrical experience created by The League of Gentlemen’s Jeremy Dyson, and Andy Nyman, co-creator of Derren Brown’s television and stage shows. Ghost Stories mixes the very best of theatre with the buzz of a thrill-ride, delivering something truly unique.

A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS (Tue 22 Jul – Sat 26 Jul)

The greatest, most powerful and dangerous figures who shaped English history are brought vividly to life in Robert Bolt’s award-winning play. Martin Shaw stars as Sir Thomas More — scholar, ambassador, Lord Chancellor and friend to King Henry VIII.

MATTHEW BOURNE’S THE MIDNIGHT BELL (Wed 30 Jul – Sat 2 Aug)

Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures company return to Brighton in 2025 with The Midnight Bell. The cast for The Midnight Bell will feature fourteen of New Adventures’ finest actor/dancers in roles that challenge and reveal the darker reaches of the human heart.
