Summer Season at the Hawth

Summer Season at the Hawth

The Hawth’s new season has just been released and it’s packed full of fantastic performances and events for audiences to enjoy.

There will be top-notch comedy as always, including star of Live at the Apollo, Kiri Pritchard-McClean with her new show, Peacock (Jun 14), everyone’s favourite Norwegian clown and winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2023, Viggo Venn making his dreams come true in British Comedian (Jul 9) and FitBit-breaking comedian Russell Kane returns with his new show Hyperactive (Sep 20).  We also have a brand new regular comedy night kicking-off in the Studio this April. The Comedy Network (Apr 19) presents the biggest stars of tomorrow…today with a fantastic first line-up including Annie McGrath, Jack Barry and Joe Kent-Walters.

The big musical for the Summer is one the whole family will enjoy! The fantasmagorical, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang flies into Crawley (Aug 20 – 25) during the Summer holidays, starring West End star, Adam Garcia as Caractacus Potts, Emmerdale’s Liam Fox as Grandpa Potts and EastEnders’ Charlie Brooks as the Childcatcher.

There’s even more for families to look forward to with Horrible Histories bringing to life Rotten Royals (Jun 13-15) live on stage. You can also look out for all your little ones’ favourite TV characters in Milkshake! Live on Holiday (Jun 23), including Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol, Blue from Blue’s Clues and You! Pip and Posy and many more. Plus, if you have a roarsome dinosaur fan at home then, Trouble on Volcano Island: Dinosaur Adventure Live (Aug 2)is the perfect treat.

As ever, music plays a huge part in the Summer programme. This time round there’s a live band night, Live & Loud (Jun 29), featuring three local groups: Mainly Madness, Slowtime Mondays and The Gas. It’s already selling fast, especially for standing tickets so early booking is advised. Later in the season, Lipstick on Your Collar (Jun 26) will transport audiences back to the 1950s and 60s, Lost in Music (Jul 4) takes you to the heart of disco and Rush: A Joyous Jamaican Journey (Jul 5) will tell the story of the Windrush Generation and Reggae. There’s also the usual wide range of fantastic tribute artists performing the music of The Eagles (Jun 20), Queen (Jun 21), Tina Turner (Jul 3), Simon and Garfunkel (Aug 1), George Michael (Sep 13) and many more.

The Summer months bring the opportunity to enjoy theatre outside in the sunshine and the ever-popular Illyria presents three classics in The Hawth Amphitheatre; Gilbert and Sullivan’s catchy melodies will delight audiences in The Gondoliers (Aug 6), Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet(Aug 21) will be a performance full of passion and Doctor Dolittle (Aug 30) will be fun packed afternoon for everyone to enjoy.

Whatever night out you are looking for, there will be something to suit your tastes. How about a night at Bingo That’s Bonkers (Jul 12), or An Evening of Burlesque (Sep 27)? Or perhaps you want to relive your youth and dance the night away at our Tropicana Nights – but which will you choose – ‘80s (Sep 6) or 90s (Sep 7)? Whatever you choose tickets are available from hawth.co.uk and by calling The Hawth Box Office on 01293 553636 (open for call and in-person bookings Monday -Friday, 10am – 4pm).
