The Save Our Fairfield campaign petition, now aproaching 8000 signatures is to be presented to Croydon Council at the public council meeting on Monday 18th April, 6.30pm, at Croydon Town Hall Council Chamber.
Supporters are encouraged to attend as a show of support to show the strength of feeling about the current flawed plans amongst the people of Croydon and the south London area. A good turnout would be appreciated to match that of the last public meeting on April 6th which 300 people attended but neither of the invited councillors attended.
It is important to maximise the impact of this occasion to show to our elected representatives how much people care about Fairfield Halls and the strength of feeling against the flawed plans as they stand. So for this reason campaigners ask that as many people as possible to fill the public gallery on Monday.
Once there has been an official response to the petition, the campaigners will continue to ensure promises are delivered and that the scheme is implemented in the best way possible, including a fully planned interim arts & culture offer to replace lost capacity during the works and also the formulation of a proper reopening strategy for when the refurbishment is complete.
