The Hawth’s pantomime for 2015/16, Jack and the Beanstalk attracted 30,000 people to the Crawley venue during it’s three week run, with audiences taking up 90% of the available seats for the show starring EastEnders’ bad guy Steve McFadden as Fleshcreep, the Giant’s henchman, alongside CBeebie’s Rebecca Keatley as Fairy Sugarsnap.
The success of this hit pantomime is perhaps down, in no small part, to the perfect blend of ingredients for a festive family treat – produced, once again by Evolution Productions (who brought Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty to Crawley), audiences were treated to comedy, audience participation, amazing sets, special effects and of course HUGE giants and a break dancing cow!
There was high praise from all quarters with The Crawley and Horley Observer reviewer commenting “The Hawth Theatre and Evolution Productions have done it again with another fun-filled pantomime for all the family. Jack and the Beanstalk has everything you want in a festive show”, while The Argus called it “an absolute Christmas Cracker” of a show.
The praise continued with The Crawley News commenting that “Jack and the Beanstalk delivers on all counts” and The Stage calling it “energetic and colourful”.
Feedback from audiences throughout the run was incredibly positive with many taking to Facebook and Twitter, with feedback like, “Absolutely fantastic show. The cast is superb!! Can’t wait to see it again”, “Best panto we have ever seen.” and “Brilliant panto can’t wait for next year”.
Although there’s nothing we can do about the wait for Peter Pan in December 2016, you can book your tickets now by calling 01293 553636 or visiting www.hawth.co.uk.
