Mimetic Festival 2014 season announced| The Vaults | 18th – 29th November

It never ceases to amaze me how many things are on in London, above pubs, in Churches, in backrooms. Now I am excited to discover yet ANOTHER new venue, well, it is new to me anyway.

Just two minutes walk from Waterlook Station are the Vaults! where now in it’s third year, the Mimetic Festival will take place for two weeks in November.

The Mimetic Festival is a wealth of cutting-edge physical and visual theatre, puppetry and  cabaret and this year’s season has just been announced!

Theatre highlights include: fringe favourites Antler Theatre’s Where the White Stops (Ideastap
Underbelly Award Winner 2013); Kill The Beast’s The Boy Who Kicked Pigs (Time Out Critic’s
Choice); new work-in-progress from award-winning puppet companies Sparkle and Dark and
Flabbergast Theatre, including new puppet improv from puppet bad boys Boris and Sergey; and
Mimetic bursary-winner Michael Twaits’ latest cabaret theatre extravaganza.

In the cabaret room, The Rubyyy Jones (recently featured on The Drag Queens of London,
London Live) will be presenting a revue, and Neil Henry will be dazzling audiences with his
award-winning magic (sell-out show Edinburgh 2014). Tricity Vogue will be also be at Mimetic
with her Songs for Swinging Ukeleles, while Marcus Reeves will be performing pieces from his
debut album ‘Quicksilver – The Masquerade Macabre’ ‘injecting heart and humanity into a
plastic pop world’ Gay Times. Plus there’s naked stand-up from Miss Gloria Pearl – ‘Funny and
genuine […] feel-good comedy at its best’ Broadway Baby, Edinburgh Fringe 2014.
