DIDN’T YOU USED TO BE DEREK JACOBI?JACOBI 1 SMALL (226x282)

Saturday 18 October 7.45pm In The Studio

Douglas Roberts used to be the Milky Bar kid. When he gets his first West End job and discovers that not only has he got his own dressing room (with a fridge!) but that he’s in a cast with Sir Derek Jacobi AND an actress from Crossroads, he thinks he’s died and gone to heaven!

Nigel Fairs, who left Collyers Sixth Form College to train at Bretton Hall in 1981, having attended and run drama classes in the old Capitol Theatre, is returning to Horsham in October with his one man show, DIDN’T YOU USED TO BE DEREK JACOBI?

Fairs, who has now had more plays performed than Shakespeare, as well as a handful of musicals, has also been touring two of his award-winning plays, IN CONVERSATION WITH AN ACID BATH MURDERER (in which he plays John George Haigh) and MY GAY BEST FRIEND, which he co-wrote and performs with Louise Jameson, best known for her roles in Doctor Who, Tenko, Bergerac and Eastenders.

Jameson, who directed the play, calls Fairs “incomparable and prolific.  This particular collaboration involved developing three very different characters and devising the means by which Mr Fairs can segue seamlessly between the comedic, the dark and the vulnerable. ”
