Worthing Theatres have announced that their official charity partner for The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan will be local children’s hospice Chestnut Tree House. The charity is the children’s hospice for East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire and cares for 300 children and young adults from 0-19 years of age with progressive life-shortening conditions.
Caroline Roberts-Quigley, Community Fundraiser for Chestnut Tree House, says: “We are so thrilled that Worthing Theatres are supporting Chestnut Tree House. With very little government funding, we rely on the generosity of individuals, groups and businesses in our local communities giving their support, which enables us to provide our services for free to children and their families.”
Worthing Theatres staff recently raised £350 for the charity in a Beat The Tide 10km run in Peter Pan costumes on Worthing seafront, as well as donating tickets of the same value to the families involved. Mr. Gnashers, the crocodile mascot in the pantomime, will be visiting Chestnut Tree House, based near Arundel, on Saturday 26 November for a Peter Pan day with the children, where he will be joining in with some fun activities with them and their families on the day.
For people who wish to contribute funds, the charity will have a collection stand throughout the 6 week run at the Pavilion Theatre, which begins on 2nd December. This year’s production stars Richard McCourt, best known as half of the Dick n Dom duo, who last month, celebrated the landmark of 20 years on television.

We are delighted that this year’s pantomime will support Chestnut Tree House, a really worthy cause providing care and support to the children, young people and families in our community who need it the most.”
As well as raising funds for Chestnut Tree House, ticket sales for Peter Pan contribute to Great Ormond Street Children’s Charity, as the pantomime adaptation is based on the original story by J.M Barrie.
