The Picture of Dorian Gray

,
‘Sin is a thing which writes itself across a man’s face. It cannot be concealed’

Fresh from a West End run of The Trials of Oscar Wilde, European Arts Company present a thrilling adaptation of Wilde’s only novel.

Set in the decadent world of Victorian London, a beautiful, narcissistic young man becomes infatuated by the exquisite portrait that has been painted of him. He makes a Faustian pact that he will remain forever young while the picture grows old. Combining drawing room comedy and Gothic horror, this is a gripping and hugely entertaining theatrical event.

The show is timed to mark the 125th anniversary of the story’s publication in Lippincott’s Magazine in 1890 and has been adapted by Wilde’s grandson Merlin Holland and John O’Connor who collaborated with European Arts Company on the hugely successful The Trials of Oscar Wilde in 2014.

The cast will be familiar from stage and screen with Guy Warren-Thomas (Downton Abbey), Gwynfor Jones (The Woman in Black), Rupert Mason (The Trials of Oscar Wilde) and Helen Keeley (The Importance of Being Earnest). Directed by Peter Craze.
