As You Like It, Connaught Theatre, Worthing

ALL the stage is a world, where all your senses are stimulated in this energetic, bold and innovative touring production of Shakespeare’s  As You Like It by award-winning theatre company Shared Experience in collaboration with Theatre by the Lake Keswick .

Set in modern times, and opening within the stark constraints of a dark, grey , ambitious and political meeting room, the backdrop walls are literally pushed back to reveal the colourful, free world of the Forest of Arden which could be mistaken for a festival scene like Glastonbury featuring live music, singing from a talented cast and beautiful forest backdrops.

Director Kate Saxon is to be congratulated on this modern day take of one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies. The cast performances are commendable especially Rosalind (Jessica Hayles), disguised as a boy, who meets Orlando (Nathan Hamilton) and teaches him the art of love.
